Thanks for sharing. It is just me, or did thte Looj also grind off the edges of your shingles? I swear I can see it happening in the video.

    OTOH I suppose if …
OTOH I suppose if you have a 1000-foot deep chasm of molten lava between you and the end of the gutter I suppose it could be useful.

  • wsanders1 says:

WTF? I can do my …
WTF? I can do my whole house in 30 min with a leaf blower!

  • cdsjerry says:

    This sounds like a …
This sounds like a good idea but it just took you about 4 min. to clean about 5 feet of gutter. That’s pretty slow. Can’t say I enjoy cleaning gutters by hand but the slow speed makes if of questionable value. I have two commercial buildings, over 300 feet of gutter. That’s about five hours work at that speed, or 1/2 hour by hand.

    I’m considering …
I’m considering buying a cabin in the Washington cascades I’ve visted for years. These gutters fill with so much of the cedar droppings, etc, that it turns into peat. I’m don’t go up there often and DO NOT like being on a ladder or being on a roof, especially walking around. I have a couple of disabilities which makes it tough anyway. I’m glad you posted this, I might put out the green to get one of these. May I ask how deep this guk was?

    Thanks for the …
Thanks for the helpful review. I am not willing to pay big bucks for someone to clean my gutters and don’t want to walk on my roof so this looks like a good tool to purchase. I am glad to see that it works on wet goo before purchasing, as the I Robot video only uses fluffy dry leaves.

  • upallllnight says:

    Yes, a good leaf …
Yes, a good leaf blower (backpack) works as fast as you can walk on a roof. Then use the same blower on the ground to clean up. If you have standing water in the gutters, it’s a bit messy.

  • caeruleas says:

    If your gutters get …
If your gutters get clogged, then the rainwater will run over the side of the roof and down around your house. At best, it just makes a mess of your yard, but eventually the moisture being so close to your house becomes a problem for your foundation/basement walls.

  • DisgruntledC2 says:

    rain won’t go …
rain won’t go neatly down the drainpipe to be guided to the sidewalk, which means your porch will drip everywhere instead of just one single place. More severe cases would involve an actual puddle forming somewhere on your roof which can cause damage if it doesn’t drain fast enough.

  • seanpatrickgilmore says:

    the reason for …
the reason for gutters is to set water flow away, the end pipe is further away from the house, this is so water does not pool around the house as that could cause basement flooding

  • richdtt says:

    would a leaf blower …
would a leaf blower do a better job? i mean the leaves just end up on the ground with the looj anyways.

  • tketrns says:

    30 bones? hello …
30 bones? hello double gift for parents this christmas, maybe 2.0 will have a better tank treads on it, lol

  • Geronrocks1 says:

    It’s ripping up the …
It’s ripping up the edges of the shingles! not good!

  • Michalrulez1 says:

    At least you don’t …
At least you don’t have to constantly move the ladder

  • thethirdbit says:

    wtf, who needs this …
wtf, who needs this?! xD if u go tu the gutter tu put this robot, u could clean the whole gutter…

  • yen0652 says:

    it wont drain to …
it wont drain to the right areas and you will have water falling in areas you dont want it to

  • mfischer1 says:

    The water will also …
The water will also build up in places you don’t want it to. that leads to rot.

  • sargisp says:

    Water doesn’t drain …
Water doesn’t drain down the pipes at each end of the gutter. Basically you get all of the rain that is coming off the roof straight off the edge rather than down the pipes.

  • mypetridish says:

    i dont own a house …
i dont own a house so i have to ask: why do glutters need cleaning? if they get stuffed what will happen?

  • krazykushluk says:

    I’d probably buy …
I’d probably buy one just to scare ducks away or something.

  • sker45 says:

    or just put some …
or just put some gloves on and clean it out with your hands in half the time

  • nutterireland says:

    you say ” comment …
you say ” comment on things they knew something about ” and you ordered a looj i hope it works better than mine .

ps: dont sell your long ladder just yet .p

  • nutterireland says:

    iRobot Looj is a …
iRobot Looj is a pile of junk , im disappointed by irobot selling these .

    scooba + roomba great .

  • Colhoon says:

    Gutter guards – …
Gutter guards – worse than useless, I had them, but since they don’t stop pine needles they then make it harder to clean the gutter than if they wheren’t there.

My gutters are too high for a ladder on some parts of the house.

We only have tank water. So often have to clean the gutters when the rain starts. good fun with lightning around, had my fair share of zaps just with sheet lightning.

So yes, some people would find these useful. me for eg.. pity it won’t go around corners.

  • cruzmail says:

    I wish people would …
I wish people would only comment on things they knew something about. Anyone who says they could have done it faster with their hand either a) has never experienced the unpleasantness of putting their hand into that mass of decomposing crap or b) does not have a roof that is to high for an extension ladder and too high pitch to walk on. After reviewing all the relevant comments, I am ordered one of these because I realize it value and degree of effectiveness.
