My Rainwater Collection System

My prototype rainwater collection system. Two 300 gallon liquid containers purchased off Craigslist, 12 VDC pump and solar charger purchased from Northern Tools, a garden tractor battery from a defunct mower and a little PVC pipe and fittings from Home Depot. I probably have $350 into it counting the gutter system. If you already have a gutter…bonus! It takes about a 1/2″ rain to fill one of the containers. I have a couple other ideas I’ll be sharing with you on this site as I post them.

Cutting 4" mounted aluminum roof gutters?

they’re mounted on a 12" long fascia board. i need to make two cuts to create a 6" gap in the gutters for mounting a larger downspout. what’s the best tool to use without damaging the fascia board or the roof drip edge?

Use tin snips. The best way would be to remove the gutter first but if that’s not an option the tin snips are best.

How can I pick up a rock out of a 4-inch drainpipe that is about 6 feet down?

The downspout for my eavestrough (or gutter) goes striaght down underground and gets connected to the main sewer line, but it is clogged with various debris.
Is there any tool equivalent to a 6 foot long pair of tweezers? Or maybe some long scissor-type grabbing device?
Any ideas?
