PostHeaderIcon How can I pick up a rock out of a 4-inch drainpipe that is about 6 feet down?

The downspout for my eavestrough (or gutter) goes striaght down underground and gets connected to the main sewer line, but it is clogged with various debris.
Is there any tool equivalent to a 6 foot long pair of tweezers? Or maybe some long scissor-type grabbing device?
Any ideas?

shop vac, makes alot of sense!

PostHeaderIcon What Can Anybody Tell Me About Gutter Helmet or Leaf Filter Gutter Protectors?

My Dad wants to get one of these systems that put an end to cleaning out the gutters. These are the two brands he seems to be interested in. Does anybody have any personal experience with either?

I have the leaf filter gutter protectors with the animal guard and have not cleaned a gutter in 10 years. I have a lot of trees around my home to keep it shaded and cleaning the gutters was a nightmare annual event before the rainy season. I also highly recommend getting the animal guards to keep them from using the gutters as a superhighway to the roof and eventual entry into the attic. They are well worth the investment and save time and effort over the years, too.
